MRS. ELIZABETH HOOKWAY: The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Hookway left the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. B. Larkin, on Friday for the Church of England cemetery, Sandgate. Rev. A.H. Venn officiated at the services at the home and graveside. Pallbearers were Messrs. H Webb, B. and W. Williamson and W. Turner.
Mrs. Hookway was 88 years of age, and was born in Morpeth. She had been a resident of the Newcastle district for practically all her life, the last 56 years having been spent in Merewether. Her husband predeceased her 26 years ago. In her younger days she had been an active worker for the Church of England. She leaves three daughters, one son, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
