Eric Douglas WILLIAMS , 1917–1942 (aged 24 years)
Awarded the Leaving Certificate at the end of 1934. Passed in Maths I and II, Chemistry, English and History.
Trained as a pilot in Tiger Moth and Cessna at Narrandera. Served in Canada and the United Kingdom.
During air operations out of the United Kingdom as a sergeant in the RAF. Eric didn't make it back from his first bombing raid on Bremen, Germany. On 26th June 1942, Eric was reported missing in action. It was nine years later when the Whitley bomber with Eric's body in the pilots seat and the body of the rear gunner were located in Marshland which submerged the plane and preserved their bodies.
Served in Canada and the United Kingdom.
