The Newcastle Morning Herald had the following comments [29th March 1957];
Mr and Mrs Richard Gregory of Tarro will celebrate the 60th anniversary of their marriage on Sunday.
Mr Gregory who is 88 was born at the Junction, Newcastle and his wife, who is 86 was born at Gelebe, Newcastle.
Mr. Gregory began working as a carpenter then moved with his family to Tomago where he worked as a farmer on Judge Winyer's property.
He was a keen foot runner in his youth.
The couple were married at St. Augustine's Church of England, Merewether, by Rev. Wright. They have six children, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
They lived in retirement at Tarro for 20 years. Their family will give them a celebration of their diamond jubilee on Sunday night at Tarro hall.
