"Rosa Haussen's grandfather, Edward Catchlove [........] arrived at Port Adelaide on the ship Tam O'Shanter on the 26th November 1836, one month before the Colony of South Australia was founded."
"I forgot to say that the "Tam O'Shanter" was the only one of the original and official 9 ships that left England in 1836 to land at Port Adelaide, 7 arrived at Kangaroo Island and the H.M.S.Buffalo landed at Holdfast Bay (Glenelg). Three other none official ships arrived at Port Adelaide but no dates were recorded so this makes the "Tam O'Shanter" the first official ship to land at Port Adelaide."
