Henry James /MAVIN/
Given names
Henry James

The 1841 British census has a Henry MAVIN, the son of Thomas and Mary, living in Haswell, a town in County Durham. He was four years of age at the time. This would have him born about 1837. Haswell is a relatively short distance from the city of Durham.

It is possible that this may have been Henry arriving with his wife in Melbourne in October 1857 on board the "Oliver Lang". Then travelling to Sydney from Melbourne on his own on board the "Macedon" on 23 October 1874.

There is a record of a Henry James MAVEN marrying a Mary Ann TURNBULL on 29 September 1850, in Tynemouth, Northumberland. Although the names fit, the date of marriage would indicate a birth for Henry of around 1830.
