I was just browsing Aggett and found your Fewins connection. I'm descended from one lot of Aggett - not directly from your line - but we can both go back to an Oliver Aggett and Jane Brimblecombe who married in Gidleigh 1709. We descend from 2 of their sons.
Lydia Aggett married James Fewins in Exeter in the December quarter of 1840. Lydia was the daughter of Richard Aggett (bp Sth Tawton 5-4-1775, son of John Aggett and Mary Risdon;) and Ann Brimblecombe.
Richard and Ann were married in Chagford 10-10-1802, Witnesses James Jeffry and Elizabeth Brimblecombe.
The Aggett name varies a lot with different spelling and not only that, Oliver had an alias! Sometimes he's recorded as Oliver Agate als Lidger or Lidger als Agate. Later it is Ledger als Aggett etc. Finally some stayed Ledger and some Aggett or Aggott.
