Matilda was the twin sister of Ernest Manion. He survived until the late 1930s. Matilda was buried in her grandmother Mary Bennett Fletcher's grave in the old anglican section of Rookwood Cemetary. See media item for a photo of the gravestone. She is not mentioned on the headstone but she is recorded as being buried there also with her uncle Robert Gerrard Fletcher. It was not uncommon for poor people to be able to save the costs of a burial site by reusing the space in an existing grave of a relative in the 19th century. Matilda is buried at the foot of her grandmother's headstone.
