Rhoda,

Here are all the ABSALOMS from Wilcot in 1871. I don't think they are going to help you much:

Place: Wilcot (Wilts.) Address: Wilcot Census reference: RG10/1939 folio 53 page 4

SURNAME, FORENAME, REL, MAR, SX, AGE, OCCUPATION, WHERE BORN ABSALOM, George, HE, M, M, 69, Ag. Lab., WIL Wilcot ABSALOM, Hannah, WI, M, F, 71, Domestic Duties, WIL Wilcot

and further down the same page: SURNAME, FORENAME, REL, MAR, SX, AGE, OCCUPATION, WHERE BORN ABSALOM, James, HE, M, M, 31, Ag. Lab., WIL Wilcot ABSALOM, Ann, WI, M, F, 23, Laundress, MDX Paddington MOOR, Mary Ann, GD, , F, 8, Domestic Duties, WIL Wilcot

Place: Wilcot (Wilts.) Address: Wilcot Census reference: RG10/1939 folio 56 page 10

SURNAME, FORENAME, REL, MAR, SX, AGE, OCCUPATION, WHERE BORN ABSALOM, Henry, HE, M, M, 49, Ag. Lab., WIL Wilcot ABSALOM, Elizabeth, WI, M, F, 51, Domestic Duties, WIL Wroughton ABSALOM, Jesse, SO, U, M, 19, Carpenters Apprentice, WIL Wilcot

The only other Absaloms I have in my database so far are a solitary boarder Kate aged 10 in Salisbury, and a family in Stratton St. Margaret. The county is not yet complete, but I now have 83% covered by at least surname.

Could a dear sould find any ABSALOMs who were living in Wilcot in 1871?

I am especially interested in William ABSALOM, aged about 7-8. Also George aged about 38-39.

Many thanks

Rhoda
