Briefly, the line runs: George Raymond (1800-53) m. Marianne Righton (d. 1872). She was the widow of Basil Righton of the East India Co. I don't know her maiden name; she was apparently French. George R.'s ten siblings included the painter Henry James P (1797-1864); the East India Co. captain and teadealer John Rhodes Pidding (1803-50) who sold his tea as "Captain Pidding"; the inventor William Pidding; and a surgeon, Thomas Pidding, who came to NSW free in 1829 and died there in 1840. George and Marianne had two sons, as you know.

Marriage | Emails - Greg Manning Citation details: 5 August 2008 Text: There are in fact five George Raymond Piddings in all, but only one Pidding convict.
