Thank you Stuart, I don’t think that I’ll be considering publishing another convict book, just an article perhaps, although I am becoming quite intrigued with the connections between these convicts. Several of Brewerton’s co-conspirators in the great London Cornhill robbery came out on board the Corona with him in 1866. You will find accounts of the robbery were published in 1865 in some Australian newspapers. There were a lot of articles published about ‘Velvet Ned’ afterwards, although there are some inaccuracies, especially in ones published decades later. He became quite a legend over the years. He resorted to picking pockets in his old age, something that would have been beneath his dignity in his early years. I haven’t been able to find any record of his death - not surprising, I suppose, since he used so many different aliases. I would be grateful if you would say that I am doing research into Brewerton and others involved in the robbery. Your website must keep you busy. Regards Irma Walter
