Service Royal Air Force Unit 500 Squadron, RAF Date of Loss Thursday, September 02, 1943 Location

Details of Loss Aircraft departed Bone at 20:15 hours on September 2, 1943 for an anti-submarine patrol and was expected to land at 02:00 hours on September 3.

As the aircraft had not landed by 02:20, endeavours were made to try and make wireless contact with the aircraft, but this was done without success. Other aircraft on escort duty were diverted to search for the aircraft, though this also returned nil results.
