RIDDLE. At Waihi, Normanby, on 10th inst., Albert Oswald, youngest son of J. Vincent Riddle; aged 18 years. NEWS AND NOTES, Hawera & Normanby Star, Volume XLII, Issue 7414, 18 March 1902, Page 2 Albert Oswald Riddle died, aged 18, at his father's residence, Waihi, at 10 p.m. on Monday, March 10th. He was apparently in the best of health till a few days preceding his death, when he appeared to be suffering from a slight bilious attack. On Monday morning his symptoms caused anxiety to his parents, who called in Dr. Westenra. In the afternoon, Dr Scott was called in consultation with Dr Westenra, but nothing could be done, and Oswald died of spinal meningitis at 10 p.m. He was one whose cheerful disposition endeared him to all with whom he came in contact, and the deepest sympathy is felt throughout the district for the family in its sad and sudden bereavement. The Rev. J. A. Jacob read the burial service. |
