=== DEATH ===Hawera & Normanby Star, Volume XLII, Issue 7408, 11 March 1902, Page 2 DEATH. RIDDLE. At Waihi, Normanby, on 10th inst., Albert Oswald, youngest son of J. Vincent Riddle; aged 18 years.

NEWS AND NOTES, Hawera & Normanby Star, Volume XLII, Issue 7414, 18 March 1902, Page 2 Albert Oswald Riddle died, aged 18, at his father's residence, Waihi, at 10 p.m. on Monday, March 10th. He was apparently in the best of health till a few days preceding his death, when he appeared to be suffering from a slight bilious attack. On Monday morning his symptoms caused anxiety to his parents, who called in Dr. Westenra. In the afternoon, Dr Scott was called in consultation with Dr Westenra, but nothing could be done, and Oswald died of spinal meningitis at 10 p.m. He was one whose cheerful disposition endeared him to all with whom he came in contact, and the deepest sympathy is felt throughout the district for the family in its sad and sudden bereavement. The Rev. J. A. Jacob read the burial service.

Hawera & Normanby Star, Volume XLVI, Issue 7802, 26 September 1903, Page 2 NORMANBY. Wedding Bells. On Thursday last a very pleasing ceremony, and one that usually causes a keen interest to be in evidence, especially amongst the fair sex, came off at the English Church, when Mr V. Riddle, son of Mr J. V. Riddle, of Waiti, was married to Miss Emma Goodland, daughter of Mr W. Goodland, of the Boylan Road. The Church was nicely decorated for the occasion and there was a large gathering offriends of both families. Miss. N. Goodland and Miss Greaves acted as bridesmaids, and Mr J. Riddle and Mr F. Fantham as best man and groomsman respectively. The happy couple left for Wanganu on their honeymoon, and they carried with them the good wishes of their many friends in the district, who with them health, prosperity, and a long life in their wedded career.

Hawera & Normanby Star, Volume LXXIV, 2 November 1917, Page 4 DIED OF WOUNDS. PRIVATE JASPER RIDDLE. With very great regret we have to record the death from wounds of Jasper Riddle, of Normanby, son of Mr and Mrs F. W. Riddle. Private Riddle was very well known all over the district. Until the time he left with the Reinforcements he had been chairman of directors of the Normanby Dairy Company. He was always keenly interested in Anglican Church work in Normanby, and had been a churchwarden there for many years. Some years ago he was one of Taranaki's leading Rugby footballers and represented this province on more than one occasion. The deepest sympathy will be felt throughout the district for his parents and relations.

[Note: This may be incorrect. Although this says he is the son of F W Riddle, Frederick William Riddle did not marry until either 1897 or 1913 and any children whose birth may not be registered in New Zealand would be too young to be serving in WWI.]

Hawera & Normanby Star, Volume LXXXV, 17 December 1917, Page 4 DEATH. RIDDLE. At Waihi, on Saturday, December 15th, 1917, John Vincent, dearly beloved husband of Charlotte Riddle, of Waihi, after a short illness; aged 79 years. Deeply regretted.

Hawera & Normanby Star, Volume LXXXV, 17 December 1917, Page 4 NORMANBY. Death of Mr J. V. Riddle. A very old and respected resident in the person of Mr J. V. Riddle, of Waihi, Normanby, passed away on Saturday after a short illness. The deceased gentleman came to Normanby in the early days with the Armed Constabulary, and saw service during the native troubles, and on the break-up of the Waihi camp he entered into farming pursuits on the Government reserve there, and has continued to reside there since. Some few weeks ago Mr Riddle lost a son in France, and this sad event seems to have accentuated an old heart trouble, and despite medical aid Mr Riddle passed away at about noon on Saturday last. The deceased, who was of a quiet and retiring disposition, and did not take a great part in local matters, was much respected by all who knew him for his straightforwardness and upright character. He is survived by his widow and daughter and two sons, Messrs Vero Riddle, of Okaiawa, and Fred. W. Riddle, of Normanby. The very deepest sympathy is expressed for them in their recent sad bereavement. The funeral will take place at Waihi Cemetery tomorrow (Tuesday), at 2 p.m.
