At the Great Synagogue on March 24, the marriage of Isabelle Gladys, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Cohen, of Cascade- street, Paddington, with Arthur Keith, second son of Mr and Mrs J Phillips, of Woolcott- street, Darlinghurst, took place. Rabbi Cohen officiated. The interior of the edifice was de- corated. The bridal gown was of the new satin crepe, made up over a very long tunic of goffered silk chiffon, edged with sprays of orange blossoms. The jersey bodice was fast- ened with satin roses and had a white silk ninon vest and short sleeves, finished with ropes of pearls and new pointed wing effect in front of silver embroidered gauze. The court train, which was suspended from the shoulders, was entirely composed of white silk net, embroidered with silver, over pale pink ninon. The bridesmaids - Misses Ethel and Dorothy Peters - cousins of the bride, wore dresses of flesh-coloured glace, veiled with ninon, made with pointed tunics, and edged with satin ribbon. The corsage of ninon was trimmed with silver embroidery, which also formed the short sleeves, and finished in deep folded belts. They wore swathed caps of silver tissue, and carried bouquets of pink tiger lilies and forget-me-nots, the gift of the bridegroom, together with gold wishbone brooches, set with pearls and turquoise. Mr Harold Phillips was best man. Mrs Lawrence Cohen was gowned in black chiffon taffeta, with a long pointed tunic, finished with tas- sels and panel of black chenille embroidery The bodice was relieved by a vest of white net, embroidered with pale pink and blue silk. Mrs J Phillips's gown of Chantilly lace was made over white silk with a soft over-tunic of ninon and vest of white Mechlin lace. After- wards Mr and Mrs L Cohen entertained about 130 guests at a ball and dinner at Sar- gent's. Later Mr and Mrs Arthur K Phil- lips left for the Jenolan Caves, the bride tra- velling in a violet cloth redingote coat and skirt, embroidered with shaded brown silk, white satin collar and cuffs, and violet hat to match, and ermine stole and muff, the gift of the bridegroom.
