It succeeded earlier cemeteries at Taree and displays inscriptions dating from as early as 1848. At the time of listing on Australian Cemeteries Index, it was in good order but due for mowing. Weeds and long grass within some of the grave enclosures needed attention. Lat/Lng: -31.889038,152.502722 How to find it Taree's Dawson River Cemetery is approximately 6km from the CBD. Take the Manning River Drive towards Cundletown and, at the airport, turn left onto Lansdowne Road. From here it is 0.6km to the cemetery lane and a further 0.5 km to the cemetery. I was corrected by Daphne Elizabeth (Murdoch) Crawford's daughter, then verified it with her son. She didn't die in Katoomba in 2003. Our Daphne died 15 September 1989 in Toukley NSW, near Norah Head where she and her husband had been living for many years!
