Ethel was not a spinster as claimed, she left a whole family behind in NZ ie husband William Hope McDonald, Fred (Francis) McDonald, Keith McDonald, Ralph McDonald and Margaret McDonald. She apparently walked out on the family when Margaret (Peg) was aged 3, in 1923???? Her father was Frederick (Francis) Younger and her mother Ellen Agnes Aspland (this is according to the marriage cert. and she shows up on the 1901 British census as living with the said parents in London. Father and Ethel came to NZ in 1905.

As so much of the information we are finding concerning this family is with marriages all over the place it is mind blowing and very hard to trace with the lies.
