OBITUARY Mr David Crawford. The death occured on Wednesday last of Mr David Crawford, one of the districts best known pioneers. Deceased who was the father of Mrs Austin Lovett, of Hall Street, Cessnock, and at whose home he passed away, was 80 years of age, and for many years had a farming and grazing property at Congewai. It was only in the last couple of years that he gave up active work. Deceased was a man of very powerful physique. He had wonderfully good teeth. Until he was 75 he had never been in a Dentist chair. He had never suffered any physical disability. He is survived by a family of three sons and four daughters. The sons are Jack, Harry and Stanley, all of Millfield, and the daughters are Mrs A Lovett, Mrs Crouch, Mrs Woods and Miss Violet Crawford.The funeral took place in the Millfield Cemetery yesterday afternoon, when a large gathering assembled at the graveside to pay their repects to a man who was held in high esteem by the community."
