Note: John was the elder of twins. This and his brother's birth certificates were the only registrations that their father Mick, ever did. It was always in the hands of both his first and second wifes. If they didn't register the birth, then it didn't get registered. Thus many of Mick's and Alice's children had no birth records. However Mick was the informant at ALL the deaths at least of the 7 infant children that died from the two marriages. Mick seemed less than anxious to register any of the births of his children. This is notable on this and John's brother Arthur's birth certificates where it took Mick 10 weeks to get around to it and when he did, on the particulars of registration the line "After declaration duly made according to law"

Alice only lived for a week. She was the first of 6 infant deaths that Mick and Alice were to suffer. They were living in a tiny 'two up 2 down' semi-detached cottage that abutted the Gloucester Street wall. The house was only a year old when they lived there. It still stands today as heritage listed. In this tiny place lived Mick, Alice and 5 young children.
