William Trotter came from Dunnet in Sutherlandshire and sailed to New South Wales as a Government Assisted Immigrant on board the ship "Boyne" arriving in Sydney 2nd of January 1839 as a 21year old Farm Servant. He married Susanna Cornish in 1853. Lived in Port Macquarie . Father Alexander Trotter , overseer to Sir John Sinclair.
